A more traditional Spanish style home, Spanish Colonial, bring back the South American flair in San Antonio. Traditionally the outside is of a white tone in color and clay barrel tile is on the roof and details of the home.
The details around windows and porches are usually hand carved stone columns and hand set square tiles. Again the rafter tails on the roof joist are usually exposed and stained dark colors. Going into the inside of the home you will find large rooms with antique wood beams on the ceilings and smooth hand troweled walls. Arches are the separation between rooms and the floor have stone tile patterns that also separate different areas of the house.
Doors and cabinetry are solid wood and show off the true character of the species with exposed knots and sawn cuts. Backsplash tiled areas can be originate and often have lots of color and flavor that tells a story about the homeowners. Fixtures throughout will be bronze or black and really bring back the old spanish styles of the south. Pools and landscape are ornate with lots of details and bright colors from tile work to flowers in Spring.
